APRA SAFE PATIENT PROJECT
The APRA Safe Patient Project is comprised of community, hospital and business organization initiatives designed to inform and educate people about how to protect themselves from preventable harm and motivate hospitals and other medical facilities to improve their patient safety with the goal of reducing the number of preventable injuries and deaths.
The APRA Community Dialogue program promotes and facilitates town hall style community dialogues about safe, fair, transparent health care with local hospitals, nursing homes and other medical facilities. The purpose of the dialogues is to reduce preventable patient harm by raising awareness and educating residents about how to protect themselves from preventable harm while in a hospital, outpatient surgical facility, doctor’s office, medical clinic or nursing home, and facilitating implementation of best practices to achieve a transformation in patient safety and fair medical treatment at the community level.
